4x4 in Kissos, Pelion: The adventure begins!
Autumn is definitely Pelion’s very own season: in this particular time of the year, the region looks like a scene from a Hollywood film! Shortly before the trees’ leaves fall to the ground, forests become full of colors; fire red, orange, yellow…

If you are an off-road driving fan, the exploration of the dirt roads in the outskirts of village Kissos (5km from Mouresi and 7km from Tsagarada) is a must. The stream of Kissos is full of chestnuts, apple trees, gangling beeches and gargantuan plane trees. On your way you might encounter as well mules loaded with firewood for the forthcoming winter.

The roads in the slopes around Kissos are not always in a good condition; the rains are quite strong and cause damages, transforming them thus into an ideal playground for the adventurers out there! You can have a go of course but it is strongly recommended only to those who drive an authentic 4x4 vehicle –and preferably along with another one, just in case… Don’t you ever think of trying your luck with a casual SUV!

If you find yourselves in need of assistance, then call Anestis Altinis, owner of hostel Atrapos (tel. 0030 6973 556282) who will also offer you information about the surrounding tracks and can offer you a drive with his suitably equipped vehicle.
The most important landmark in Kissos is the famous church of Agia Marina. You can find more here.
