Zagori: The stairs of Vradeto

The stairs of Vradeto are made of stones, carved by exceptional and highly-experienced craftsmen who created 1,120 large steps, covering thus 250 meters of height with a path of more than 1.5 kilometers…

The Stairs of Vradeto

The total distance between Vradeto and Kapesovo, near which the stairs lead, is approximately 3.5 kilometers. If you would like to avoid the steep uphill, you could reach Vradeto using the main road (tarmac) and then just follow the stairs’ downhill. Keep in mind that you will need about an hour for the downhill and 90 minutes for the uphill.

In any case, plan your trip wisely so that before you begin your way from Vradeto, have some food (cabbage with lima beans, roast meat, herbage, traditional pies, etc.) with tsipouro in the traditional and authentic restaurant of Mrs. Konstantina (tel. 0030 26530 71701).
